Pre-Production: Meeting with Vikki - Animator

Through a connection at UCA Rochester, we was able to have a meeting with a recent graduate that did Animation.

We didn't want to take on an animator without seeing what they can do, so we gave Vikki brief information on what we would like her to create. I told her that I wanted to create a little clip, where there was a lantern and small moths hovering around it. I wanted her to create something dark, with a purple colour palette, however for her to put her own creative input in.

Here is what she sent us:

I really liked the video, especially how she incorporated the lantern swinging. The colour and the overall look was what I imagined as well. We decided that Vikki would be great to have on board so we set up a meeting.

We met at a coffee shop and I roughly discussed the project, what we are looking to include in the trailer, such as colour schemes, lighting, location, etc.

It basically outlines examples of what is to be included as well as information on the stories, to give her a better idea on what she is creating the trailer for.

Overall the meeting went very well and we will be meeting Vikki in a couple of week to see storyboards of the trailer and then she can start on the animation.
