Studio Live Production: Back at the Studios

Our new unit that we are starting on is Studio live production. For this project we will be working with everyone in our year.

Each person has to come up with an idea that we could do for the live production and then pitch it in front of our tutors.

The Rules:

- Produce a 30 minute pilot show
- Recorded live in the studio
- Include 4 VT's (Pre-filmed footage)
- Entertainment or factual show for either an adult or younger audience

If our idea is chosen we will automatically be the producer of the show, and then the rest of the class will have interviews on roles they would like to do in the show. There are a variety of jobs and some jobs include having more than one role.

Here are the job roles:
Producer Department
1x Producer
1x Assistant Producer
1x Production manager/floor manager
1x promotions producer
1x VT producer

Direction Department
1x Studio director (Part 1)
1x Studio director (Part 2)
1x VT package director + studio camera
1x Promotion director (title sequence) + behind the scenes video
1x Promotion director (trailer director) +behind scene video

Edit Department
1x Vision Mixer (Studio Part 1) + VT package editor
1x Production assistant (studio) + VT package editor
1x Vision mixer (Studio Part 2) + promotions editor

Camera Department
1x Studio camera + VT package camera
1x Studio camera + VT package camera
1x Studio camera + VT package camera
1x Studio camera + VT package camera

Sound department
1x Studio sound + VT package sound
1x Studio sound + promotions sound

Most people will have two job roles for this unit. Even though there's one idea, the show will be split into two 15 minute slots, so that people can swap job roles, i.e. there will be a studio director for the first 15 minutes of the show and the a different studio director will take over the last 15 minutes of the show.

Now to come up with some ideas.
