Digital News Project: Interview with Michael Baldwin

We arrived at Milton Regis Court Hall a bit earlier than our shoot time. When we got inside we realised that we had forgot the tripod.

Tim offered to go back to Rochester to get his tripod, as it would take too long to go back to the studios to collect a tripod as we didn't have a car.

We tried to look around the room to see if there was a chair of something that we could balance the camera on, however there was nothing that we could find.

Michael said that he had a photography tripod that we could use, as he only lived around the corner we decided to use it.

When we set up the camera and sound we then did the lighting. Luckily one side of Michael was lit up already as there was a window, however the other side of him still needed to be lit up.

I took out the soft box lighting as well as the PAG light, as we thought it was going to be really dark inside the building.

As we only needed a little bit of extra light, we decided to just use the PAG light.

Tim was on camera, Illy was on sound and asked questions and I was holding the PAG light.

We was able to do the interview and set up within 2 hours, which is much better than how our other shoots have turned out.

Here is the paperwork for the shoot:

Overall the day was quite successful even though we was a team member short. Luckily Michael had a tripod to use other we would of had to done the interview hand held, which is not the best way to film an interview. We had a list of equipment that we had already decided to bring days before the shoot, however as it was left down to me to collect most of it. I feel that next time there should be at least two people to collect equipment to make sure that we don't forget any pieces of equipment.
