Knitting for Charity: Extra Information

Carole from the knitting group sent an email to me full of information on 'Yarn Bombing', which is apparently the new craze.

Yarn bombing is a type of graffiti street art that is done over night. It is not only happened in the UK but also all over the world. Here are some images of 'Yarn Bombing' in Vienna:

Earlier this year the NHS asked people to knit blood drops to promote their blood transfusion drive. Thousands of drops were knitted by volunteers, including volunteers from the knitting for charity group. These drops were used to decorate the trees, for advertisement.

It was very nice of Carole to send over some great information on how knitting is used today, however due to only having 2 minutes for our live news piece, we won't be able to include any of this information. Our main focus for our news piece is talking about the knitting group and about the charity they are raising money for.
